PRODUCT DEFINITION

PORCELAINFIX is a high-performance, flexible, polymer-modified, cement-based adhesive for all tile types. Characterized by extended open time, no vertical slip for ceramic tiles.

FIELDS OF APPLICATION

PORCELAINFIX is suitable for fixing all types of ceramic tiles, natural stone, marble, granite and porcelain on cementitious renders, cemen­titious screeds and concrete.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

Substrate the surface to be overlaid must be dean, free of dust, grease, paint, loose material, etc. Dampening of the substrate before application is recommended.

PORCELAINFIX is gradually added into water under continuous stirring for 3-5 min until a uniform paste is formed (Creamy thixotropic mortar). A low speed mixer is recommended for mixing. The mixture should be left at least for about 5 minutes to settle and slightly stirred again for 1 min, the paste is ready for application.

Application To obtain a good adhesion first apply a thin coat of paste with the flat side of trowel create a layer approximately 1 mm thick, then notch with the tooted side of trowel. The tiles should be fixed by pressing to the desired position. In any case, consider that 75- 80% of the reverse side of tiles needs to be covered for interior installa­tions, and 100% for exterior installations or floors subject to heavy traffic.

Fix the tile with a firm pressure. Open time is 5 -20 minutes, climatic conditions can reduce or extend this time, If this period is exceeded get rid of the mortar, because it's no longer suitable to use.

Applied mixture must be covered within 30 minutes in order to avoid "skin" formation.

Back-buttering - For exterior installations, large-size tiles (greater than 30x30cm), floors with intense or heavy traffic, vibrating supports and situations exposed to high temperature fluctuations, the adhesive mortar must be applied to both the substrate and the back of the tiles so as to obtain a full layer of adhesive without any air pockets.

Protective Equipment

Safety equipment must be used by the applicant during the applica­tion which includes respirator mask, safety glasses and gloves during application and any other safety tools if required.

Do not add lime, cement or other foreign materials to the product.

Do not use the product to create layers more than 6 mm thick.
