PRODUCT DEFINITION

BOARDFIX is a high performance, flexible, polymer-modified and cement-based thermal insulation board adhesive mortar.

FIELDS OF APPLICATION

BOARDFIX is suitable for fixing (EPS) expanded polystyrene, (XPS) extruded polystyrene and rockwool on cementitious renders, cementi­tious screeds. Suitable for indoor and outdoor applications. Very porous surfaces such as aerated concrete, gypsum boards, smooth surfaces, chipboards etc. must be primed first with a layer of PRIMER before using the adhesive on the surfaces.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

Substrate the surface to be overlaid must be clean, free of dust, grease, paint, loose material, etc. Dampening of the substrate before application is recommended.

BOARDFIX is gradually added into water under continuous stirring for 3-5 min until a uniform paste is formed (Creamy thixotropic mortar). A low speed mixer is recommended for mixing. The mixture should be left at least for about 5 minutes to settle and slightly stirred again for 1 min, the paste is ready for application.

Application To obtain a good adhesion first apply a thin coat of paste with the flat side of trowel create a layer approximately 1 mm thick, then notch with the tooted side of trowel.

Fix The board by pressing to the desired position. Open time is 5 - 20 minutes, climatic conditions can reduce or extend this time, If this period is exceeded get rid of the mortar, because it's no longer suitable to use.

Applied mixture must be covered within 30 minutes in order to avoid "skin" formation.

Back-buttering - For exterior installations the adhesive mortar must be applied to both the substrate and the back of the board so as to obtain a full layer of adhesive without any air pockets.

Protective Equipment

Safety equipment must be used by the applicant during the application which includes respirator mask, safety glasses and gloves during application and any other safety tools if required.

Do not add lime, cement or other foreign materials to the product.

Do not use the product to create layers more than 6 mm thick.
